ROD LEMAIRE

Art Director

An award-winning art director, Rod’s success is based not only on his design skills, but also on his ability to innovate and adapt. He relies on a well-honed creative sense to look beyond the obvious and develop new opportunities and avenues where branding and communications can — and will — attract the best exposure.

Charged with making creative connections with an audience through both print and electronic means, Rod relies on effective problem-solving skills that make him a valuable team leader when collaborating with clients, coworkers, photographers or printers. From presenting design concepts to scheduling locations for a photo shoot, Rod thrives on helping clients create a smooth process for producing successful communications.

Rod holds a BFA, but his design interests also encompass architecture, cartography and city planning — and all these areas influence his award-winning approach to design challenges. His recent work for University of the Pacific and Columbia Business School has garnered awards on a national level.

Rod served as president of the New Orleans chapter of AIGA from 2001–04, an experience he used to strengthen his team management and negotiation skills. He also sits on graphic design program advisory boards at two New Orleans area colleges. Rod frequently lectures at design-oriented events and has transmuted public speaking into a moonlight career in theatre. He has joined the city’s “Running With Scissors” comedy troupe, trodding the boards to unanimous critical acclaim.

We’re glad Rod didn’t pursue his second career choice — window washer at the Empire State Building. However, his interests in architecture, cartography and city planning influence his award-winning approach to design challenges.

Rod is a past President of the New Orleans chapter of American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), and has served on its Board of Directors for six years.
